I realized this morning that it’s time to replace my yoga mat which made me sad.
This mat is more than a piece of yellow cloth for me.
It’s like a sacred shrine that I’ve had since 2016.
There’s been moments when life felt tough and pushing through a hard workout has given me strong mental clarity and mental strength.
There’s been moments when I needed calm and a yoga session has totally shifted me.
I’ve had insights, I’ve had breakthroughs, I’ve had blood (from a wound), sweat (lots of it) and tears that were shed on this mat.
But now the mat is literally shedding and I need to replace it soon.
I won’t throw it though.
I’ll keep it for the hard moments, for the moments when I need clarity, when I need strength or I need an extra dose of calm.
This mat has travelled through a lot with me. It’s held the space for me (literally, haha!) whilst I got stronger but more than that, it’s helped me gain the mental strength I now have.
Obviously, it’s just a piece of cloth and I’m rarely sentimental about physical things. But I see this mat as a totem.
A totem helps us to embody what we want to emanate. We use it as a way of honoring how we want to show up.
I share a lot about this in Alter Ego Mastery. That’s the theme I am currently sharing on inside The Dare To Leap Program.
If you want to learn how to identify the person you wish to become and then use some powerful tools to ignite that persona, then I would join us inside The Dare To Leap Program.
